Weekly Poop Special Report

It's not exactly breaking news now but I figured the hajis won't be reporting this on al jezeera.

Ole Miss...Can We Get a Nutt?

In short, yes. Reports have been surfacing as early as late last night that former Arkansas Razorbacks Head Football Coach Houston Dale Nutt has accepted a job in Oxford as the new leader of the Rebel Football Team. It's being reported that Nutt was only unemployed for a mere 6 hours before agreeing to 5 year 9.5 million dollar deal a to coach the newly restocked Rebels. Evidently, Arkansas Officials read Nutt the riot act prior to the shocking upset of No. 1 LSU. After The Hogs won Friday, the Arkansas backtracked and tried to offer Nutt a 2 year extension worth a reported 2.4 million per year. As it turns out, Nutt had enough of the attacks from Arkansas fans and decided to resign. Earlier this year one fan filed a ridiculous lawsuit against Nutt and a group of fans actually flew a banner over the stadium which bashed the coach's SEC record during a home game this year. Funny that now he's likely headed back to the cotton bowl.

A number of people felt that Coach O was hired simply to stock the pantry with recruits until a proven coach could be hired and now those once far-fetched stories seem to have some credence. Now, do I believe this was all part of some elaborate plan? Absolutely not, but it is funny how things work out. For those of you who are not up to date with Nutt's recent career; here's a few highlights: Nutt is the 2nd longest tenured coach in the SEC at 10 years. In his 10 years, he went to 8 bowls: 3 cottons (assuming that's where they land this year), one Capital one bowl and a bunch of late December events. He won the SEC West 3 times and went to Atlanta twice, He has a .500 or better record against every SEC West team except LSU who has a 2 game advantage over him. Nutt has also built a reputation for being an energetic coach who motivates and befriends his players. His teams play hard to the end and his 7 year reign as the SEC's best running team speaks for itself. He's also 2-1 against Texas and that makes our future games with the Horns VERY interesting.

Hopefully Houston will be "Throwin’ Down The Horns" in Oxford

To summarize this rambling article; Ole Miss made a HUGE hire and Arkansas ran off a winner.

As a Lifelong Rebel Fan who's suffered through years of mediocrity and coming up just short in all sports, I am very happy to finally have some good news. It seems that we are finally on an upswing across the board. Our Basketball team is undefeated and a statistical leader in the SEC and we're set to make massive improvements to our facilities. Our baseball program is poised to make a run at Omaha and we're about to begin a massive addition to our stadium. Now that we have a proven Head Coach in Football, we could be looking at our first winning season since Eli this coming season. Hotty Toddy indeed.

Now for the serious business
We have a coach whose name presents endless possibilities for jokes. Let's try some!
The Indoor Practice Facility?Coaches' Offices (IPF) clearly needs to be named the Nutt House.
The fans can be called the PeaNUTT Gallery
If Powe gets cleared (finally) and dominates as he is expected to, we can call his assaults on opposing QBs "Nutt Sacks"
If we use a crack back on Offense he can be called the "Nutt Cracker" (This can also be used for any white kids who become great players on the team)
We can clone the late Eazy E and have his "mini me" sing our new Fight Song; the NWA Classic "Gimme That Nutt"
The sports marketing possibilities are certainly better than the previous "A Cut Above" "Welcome to the O-Zone" "It's the Red Blue In You"
How About:
"Ole Miss: Let's Go Nutts"
"Ole Miss-"Bustin' a Nutt"
"A Ball and a Nutt-This is Ole Miss Football"

That's all for now from the Poop, but rest assured, The Poop is about to get more interesting and thanks to our new coach, a lot funnier.

Stay tuned for more news and be safe.
